Our commitment
DAVE festival
»DAVE is there to connect and develop« – as an IT company, we support this maxim and the Dresden Audio Visual Experience Festival in order to promote the local club and subculture as well as the identity development of young people in Dresden.
DAVE takes place annually and is organized by volunteers. It is about club culture and electronic music, light experiences and urban life, sound research and creation, celebrating together and to promote young talents via workshops and discussion forums.
In focus: Dresden as center of extraordinary club experiences and offering a platform to emerging artist. Gathering international artists DAVE provides events in usual and – in the matter of dancing – unusual places.
Educational sponsorship for refugee children
The Trans4mation Group does not prescribe social commitment ‘from above’, but lives it. In many initiatives, the impetus comes directly from employees—as it is in this case. In order to make it easier for refugee children to arrive in Germany, teams of Trans4mation employees have signed educational sponsorships arranged by the Dresden Foreigners' Council. For two to four hours a week, they support children from Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan in their language and knowledge acquisition, facilitate social integration and give them the important feeling that they are recognized as equals, with equal rights and opportunities. The management generously supports the initiative by including the care and travel time as working hours.
Membership in the Wikimedia Foundation
The online encyclopedia Wikipedia, founded in 2001 just like Trans4mation, is one of the most successful web projects in the world. It has fundamentally changed the way we research information—and provides an impressive example of the potential of global collaboration between experts in the production of knowledge. In addition, Wikipedia exemplifies fundamental values such as the right to a free and open Internet. To ensure that Wikipedia can continue to offer its services freely and independently, Trans4mation joins the ranks of supporters and sponsors and supports the Wikimedia Foundation as a member.
Children and youth welfare Dresden
Access to new media is very important for the future planning of young people. After all, information on training places and support programs is often only available online—and more and more companies are using digital channels in the application process. However, in many social institutions the budget is not sufficient to provide modern technology. The Trans4mation Group, together with TLL++ STEUDA Steuerberatungsgesellschaft, donated two laptops, so impressed were they by the work of the counselors at Burmeister and Luding (a private provider of child and youth welfare services in Dresden). They are available to young people in the housing groups for research and application purposes.
Juniordoktor (Junior Doctorate)
The commitment of the Trans4mation Group for children and young people also enriches the municipal school program Juniordoktor. It invites pupils from third to 12th grade to discover the cultural and research institutions and companies in their city. More than 100 events per year arouse curiosity and a spirit of discovery. In 2015, the Trans4mation Group has expanded its commitment to date: The company is no longer just a sponsor but a partner station. Supported by a broad wave of support from the staff, the children were offered three activities that focus on working with the computer. In view of the enthusiastic reactions, it cannot be ruled out that we will see one or the other small participants in a few years' time—when he or she starts working at Trans4mation. In any case, the children will keep a good souvenir of their time with us.
Animal sponsorship
A committed company like Trans4mation without animal sponsorship? Unthinkable! Since May 2015, our furry family member, a Ring-tailed Lemur, has been living in the Dresden Zoo. There he pursues—in homework, at the remote desk—animalistically important activities. Eat fruit, for example. However, this occasion for fun has a serious background: lemurs like this Katta are still hunted without consideration in Madagascar, their island of origin and their habitat is getting smaller and smaller. On the other hand, the company wants to set a small, symbolic sign with this sponsorship.
Support of local sport teams
Contrary to popular cliché Trans4mation is keen on sports. Regular meetings to play soccer or volleyball and participation in competitions like REWE Team Challenge, Volleyball Business Cup and others proof that we are not only dedicated to IT but also to sports.
Unsurprisingly we also use our resources to support local sports clubs and teams. Whether volleyball, soccer, beach handball or American football – Trans4mation backs diversity and follows the teams example!
Their fighting spirit and unconditional will to succeed have left an impression. This is why the Trans4mation Group supports Dresdner Sportclub (DSC), Dresden Monarchs, SpVgg. Dresden-Löbtau and Brüder Ismaning Beach handball team as part of its commitment as a sponsor. At the same time, these teams support the company: by making it clear with every game that good is not good enough. A better motivation is hardly conceivable!
